Osagyefo Kwaw Fraiku IV Makes Emotional Return to Christian Divine Church And the Christ Freedom Mission

It was a scene of nostalgia and spiritual homecoming as the Paramount Chief of the Shama Traditional Area, Osagyefo Kwaw Fraiku IV, embarked on a series of pastoral visits, stopping at the Christian Divine Church and Christ Freedom Mission. The visit to the Christian Divine Church was particularly sentimental, as the Paramount Chief revealed his deep-rooted personal history with the congregation, describing himself not just as a traditional leader, but as a lifelong member of the fold.

Addressing the congregants, Osagyefo Kwaw Fraiku IV shared fond memories of his youthful days within the church. He recounted how he used to represent the Christian Divine Church in competitive Bible quizzes, often emerging victorious and bringing honor to the local assembly.”I am a son of this house,” the Paramount Chief remarked. “The values and the scriptures I learned here as a young man shaped the leader I am today. Winning those Bible quizzes wasn’t just about the prizes; it was about building a foundation in faith.”

  • A Token for Prayer and Development

In a practical demonstration of his commitment to the church and the community, Osagyefo Kwaw Fraiku IV made a generous donation of GHC10,000. He requested the leadership of the church to accept the amount as a token to support their activities and, importantly, to unceasingly pray for the peace and prosperity of the Shama Traditional Area.Going a step further, the Paramount Chief pledged to take up the renovation of the church floor, promising to provide the necessary materials and support to ensure the entire sanctuary is tiled to a modern standard.

  • A Call for Partnership

The Chief urged the clergy and the members to align with his vision for the region. He emphasized that traditional leadership and the church must work hand-in-hand to bring tangible development to Shama.”I cannot do this work alone,” he stated. “I need the church to support my vision for Shama. When we work together, we can transform our communities and create a better future for our children.”Gratitude from the AltarThe Pastor of the Christian Divine Church, visibly moved by the gesture, expressed profound gratitude to the Paramount Chief. He thanked Osagyefo Kwaw Fraiku IV for his “endless love” for both the church and the people of Shama.”It is rare to see a leader who remembers his humble beginnings so vividly,” the Pastor noted. “Your kindness today and your plans for the floor tiling are answers to our prayers. Shama Paramount Chief Swifts Into Action: Osagyefo Kwaw Fraiku IV Begins Transformation of Bentsir CHPS Compound

In a remarkable display of leadership and commitment to rural healthcare, the Paramount Chief of the Shama Traditional Area, Osagyefo Kwaw Fraiku IV, has officially commenced the renovation of the Bentir Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound. The intervention comes just days after the Traditional Leader paid a working visit to the facility to assess its deteriorating state. True to his word, workers and materials arrived at the site shortly after his promise to restore the clinic to a functional and dignified state.

A Facility in Distress

During his initial inspection, the Paramount Chief was met with a sobering reality. Nursing staff at the compound shared harrowing accounts of the challenges they face while trying to provide life-saving care to the community.Key issues highlighted by the medical team included:• Leaking Roofs: Nurses reported that during rainfall, the interior of the clinic becomes virtually unusable, threatening medical supplies and patient comfort.

Lack of Staff Housing: The absence of an on-site room for nurses means that during nighttime emergencies, there is often a delay in response as staff must travel from afar to attend to patients.• Sanitation Crisis: Perhaps most distressing was the revelation that the facility lacks a basic toilet. Nurses and patients are currently forced to walk long distances just to access a place of convenience.

The Chief’s Response

Deeply moved by the plight of both the staff and the residents of Bentir, Osagyefo Kwaw Fraiku IV did not merely offer sympathy; he offered a solution.”Healthcare is a fundamental right, and those who sacrifice to care for us must work in dignity,” the Paramount Chief noted during the commencement of works. The renovation project is expected to be comprehensive. Beyond fixing the leaking roof, the plan includes the construction of an additional room to serve as on-site accommodation for duty nurses. Furthermore, the Chief has pledged to address the sanitation crisis by installing modern toilet facilities within the compound.Community GratitudeThe local community and the nursing staff have expressed profound relief. “We felt forgotten,” one nurse remarked. “To see the Paramount Chief come here personally and then send workers just a few days later gives us hope that we can finally do our jobs without fearing the rain or the dark.”This initiative by Osagyefo Kwaw Fraiku IV stands as a testament to the vital role traditional authorities play in national development and the immediate improvement of the lives of their people.
