History of our Chiefs
The town of Shama is well situated at the mouth of the river and on the sea where rocks break the strength of the surf. In old days Shama had its value as a port, but the building of the railway from Sekondi to Kumasi and of side roads tapping areas beside the river and finally the construction of Takoradi harbour have caused the decline of Shama.
